Public Relations Senior Account Executive, Technology
Join Nectar
Nectar is looking for a Senior Account Executive who takes big swings, never stops leveling up, and makes the whole team better in the process.
We're a tight-knit, high-performing communications agency that shapes the stories of today's most disruptive technology companies including LinkedIn, Google Cloud, the world's biggest AI company (yes, that one), and a growing roster of breakout startups across AI, enterprise, and consumer. We punch above our weight because we show up with energy, urgency, and ambition, and because we hold each other to a genuinely high bar.
As a Senior Account Executive, you'll own meaningful work, push clients forward, and connect dots others miss. You'll bring conviction to every pitch, sweat the details on every deliverable, and flag risks early so the team can count on you. You move fast, think big, and care deeply about the quality of what you put into the world, because great work isn't accidental. It's intentional, thoughtful, and something worth putting your name on.
Nectarines are curious about where media and technology are headed, especially in this age of AI, and actively use that curiosity to think bigger and move faster. We collaborate without ego, communicate clearly, and take ownership from kickoff to follow-through.
If you're energized by tech, passionate about storytelling, and ready to do the best work of your career in an inclusive environment where your ideas actually matter, this is your place.
About You
You're a sharp storyteller, a natural relationship builder, and a communications professional who knows how to turn big ideas into meaningful results. You understand what makes a story newsworthy, how to build relationships with journalists, and how to find the right angle even when the story isn't obvious.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment where curiosity, creativity, and accountability go hand in hand. You're comfortable managing multiple priorities, communicating directly with clients, and taking ownership of projects without waiting for someone to tell you what comes next.
You're ready to take the next step in your career: becoming a trusted client partner, helping junior teammates grow, and contributing to the bigger strategic conversations that shape successful communications programs.
What You Do
Own day-to-day execution across 3–4 technology-focused client accounts, keeping programs on track, on strategy, and delivering meaningful results
Develop and execute proactive media relations strategies that secure high-quality coverage in business, technology, and industry publications
Build and maintain strong relationships with reporters, editors, producers, and other influential voices across the media landscape
Draft and refine compelling media pitches, press releases, bylines, executive briefing documents, and thought leadership content
Identify timely newsjacking opportunities, emerging industry narratives, and creative story angles that position clients at the center of relevant conversations
Serve as a trusted day-to-day client contact, providing thoughtful recommendations, proactive updates, and clear communication
Manage projects from kickoff through execution, overseeing timelines, deliverables, and coordination across account teams
Support executive visibility programs, including media briefings, speaking opportunities, awards, and thought leadership initiatives
Translate complex technology topics, including AI and enterprise innovation, into accessible, compelling stories for diverse audiences
Collaborate on integrated campaigns across earned, owned, and social channels, connecting storytelling opportunities across platforms
Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and media coverage to surface actionable insights and new opportunities
Review junior teammates' work, provide constructive feedback, and help strengthen writing, research, and media relations skills
Contribute creative thinking and strategic recommendations to client planning, brainstorms, and new business pitches
Proactively identify challenges, communicate solutions, and maintain a consistently high standard of client service
What You Offer
3–5 years of preferred experience in public relations, communications, or integrated marketing
Prior agency experience strongly preferred, particularly working with technology clients across B2B, enterprise software, AI, cloud, or emerging technology
Demonstrated success securing meaningful media coverage and building lasting relationships with journalists
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives
Experience developing media strategies and executing campaigns across product announcements, proactive storytelling, and executive thought leadership
Confidence communicating directly with clients, managing expectations, and providing thoughtful recommendations
Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects, prioritize competing deadlines, and deliver consistently high-quality work
Strong understanding of the evolving media landscape, emerging technology trends, and the stories shaping business and culture
Experience supporting or mentoring junior teammates, with a genuine interest in helping others develop
A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a willingness to take ownership of challenges
A collaborative spirit, intellectual curiosity, and the confidence to contribute fresh ideas
Champion the use of AI tools and emerging technology to enhance writing, research, media intelligence, and content production efficiency while maintaining accuracy and editorial judgment
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience
Willingness to work two days per week from our San Francisco or New York office
